Cycling and Hiking in Varnsdorf and surrounding

Thanks to its central position in the whole area Varnsdorf represents an ideal starting point for cycling tours and one-day trips of various lengths and difficulties. These are both leight and easier ways as well as very demanding ways with difficult profiles in near hills and peaks.

Cycling paths and trails can be divided into following areas:

• tours in Varnsdorf and marked cycling trails in the surrounding
• Lausatian mountains and so called Tolštejn estate (area in surrounding of Jedlová) on the edge of Lausatian mountains
• Bohemian-Saxonian Switzerland
• Šluknov area
• contignous German border-area (Upper Lausatia) especially Zittauer mountains and trails near border-town Grossschönau, Seifhennersdorf and Zittau

Long-distance cycling trails:

• Elbe-path („Elbe Radweg“) from Prague via Dresden to Berlin and the north of Germany
• trail in the area of half-timbered houses in Upper Lausatia („Oberlausitzer Umgebindehäuser“)
• cycling trail „Oder-Neisse“ leading from Zittau up to the north of Germany (Baltic sea area)
• long-distance way (Krakonošova cyklostezka-Ruberzaulweg) from Lukawka(PL) via Zittau, Grossschönau, Dolní Podluží/Varnsdorf up to Bad Schandau (D)
• cycling way alongside river Spree (D)
• further Upper- and Lower Lausatian long-distance cycling paths

Mountain-bike trails („MTB“):

• Lausatian mountains – in Jedlová, Luž, Malevil
• on German side of the border: Oybin, Jonsdorf
• Bohemian-Saxonian Switzerland
